Anthony's thoughts on a big three points on the road

davidlamb33

That was a huge three points for the last night. Teams below us have been picking up wins recently so it was good to put a little bit of daylight between us again. That was only our second match in six weeks so the lack of continuity has been a real issue but that’s two out of three wins on the road since the end of last year and sees us moving slowly but steadily away from our lowly position.

It was always going to be a bit of a slug fest on a very difficult pitch but both teams tried their best to play some football and the match was played at a good tempo.

For the most part of the first 45 minutes, I thought we were the far better side with although there was very little in terms of clear cut chances at either end. However, we go into the break one up after a terrific solo goal from Kyle (Kivlichan). Second was always going to be tough with Dalkeith coming back out fired up to get back into the game but getting a second on the hour mark after a good finish from Robbie Renwick and that gave us a little breathing space.

Again, maybe a little more composure on the counter attack sees us in a more comfortable position going into the last quarter of an our or so but it just seems we like to do things the hard way and we were hanging in a bit in that final period.

But one thing is for sure, the lads are leaving absolutely everything on the pitch for the cause and that’s a great result to take into Saturday and we now quickly need to focus on another difficult task away to Harthill Royal.
